Mongolia’s Rio 2016 bronze medalist E.Sodnompiljee won gold in the men’s under 107kg with a 220kg lift. Kyrgyzstan’s Zhyrgalbek Orosbaev (200kg) sealed silver and United Arab Emirates’ Abdalla Alnaqbi (185kg) rounded off a successful day for the hosts by winning bronze. A total of nine athletes competed in this category.

The 9th ‘Fazza 2018’ Para Powerlifting World Cup was held in Dubai on 21 February. Over 200 athletes from 32 countries participated in the competition.  

State-honoured athlete, E.Sodnompiljee has won the World Cup three times has taken two silvers and holds the Asian record in powerlifting.
