Vodka is a popular drink in Mongolia – especially at the traditional lunar New Year festival of Tsagaan Sar. This year, one person died of alcohol poisoning and two others were taken to hospital during the celebrations  which lasted from 15-19 February. One of the people suffering from alcohol poisoning has been discharged from hospital while other has been transferred to the First Central Hospital in the capital Ulaanbaatar from Bayankhongor province.

The case is being investigated by of Bayankhongor province Special Inspection Department.
