A total of 700 cadets from the Mongolian Police Academy have been working with Ulaanbaatar police officers in the capital during the lunar New Year festival of ‘Tsagaan sar’, which this year took place from 15-19 February.

During this period of ‘hands-on’ experience one cadet caught a suspected criminal. The ‘future-policeman’ in question was O.Enkhbilguun from  course 326 at the Police Academy; he managed to  catch a suspect fleeing from the Sansar hotel in the capital’s Bayanzurkh district. The 46-year-old male suspect was handed over to the Songinokhairkhan district police department where he has been on the wanted list.
