During the meetings, the two sides exchanged their views on implementing the agreements signed by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science and representatives form Inner Mongolia two years ago. They also discussed increasing bilateral cooperation. Inner Mongolia also promised to improve the studying conditions for Mongolian students.
Every year, the Inner Mongolian government awards scholarships to 250 Mongolian students to study at Inner Mongolia’s eight universities. In all, about 2350 Mongolian students are currently studying in Inner Mongolia, and that number is growing annually.
Since signing the agreements two years ago, Mongolia has staged festivals in the Inner Mongolian cities of Ordos and Hohhot, and Hohhot’s Odon Television has broadcast Mongolian movies and works of art. The two sides emphasized that such activities help improve bilateral relations.
The two sides also agreed to work toward increasing the number of cultural exchanges, supporting collaborative artwork, organizing children’s camps, and increasing the study of each side’s cultural heritage.
Tianjin city’s Deputy Mayor Mrs. Zhang Zunfang welcomed Ch.Kulanda. Tianjin will hold a cultural event in Ulaanbaatar in August. Mrs. Kulanda’s visit ended after she met Zhao Shaohua, China’s Deputy Minister of Culture.
