A ten-year-old boy disappeared from the Khalkh Gol soum of Dornod province on 20 February. According to one source, the boy from a herder family did not return home after he went out at noon. A total of 78 people including officers and vehicles from the National Emergency Management  Agency (NEMA) joined in a search which has now entered its second day.

The whereabouts of missing Mongolian schoolgirl D.Serjmyadag is still unknown since the eight-year-old failed to return home from school in November. Over 1200 people joined a search for the missing girl in her hometown Sainshand, the administrative centre of the Dornogobi province. There was speculation that she may have been taken to China, however, the investigation with the Chinese police proved fruitless.
