The Mongolian Tugrik currently stands at MNT 2395 against the US dollar, the Bank of Mongolia has announced. The USD was sold at MNT 2425 at the beginning of 2018; however, the USD rate has decreased by MNT 30 over five days from 14 February.

The Tugrik stood at MNT 377 against Chinese yuan; this represents a decrease of MNT 3 from the beginning of the 2018.

A rescue team from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) arrived in the capital, Ulaanbaatar, on Wednesday. Mongolia hopes to receive further assistance from the IMF to see it through its current economic difficulties. Since the IMF intervention began, the Mongolian economy is showing signs of revival.
