On 14 February, Mongolia President Kh.Battulga,  presented the highest state awards to over 30 people. The award ceremony is always held right before the Mongolian national festival of ‘Tsagaan Sar’ (Lunar New Year). This year, Mongolia is celebrating the 2227th anniversary of anniversary of the establishment of the first Mongolian state, the 812th anniversary of the founding of the  Great Mongol Empire, the 107th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, the 97th anniversary of the Mongolian People’s Revolution and the 29th anniversary of the Democratic Revolution.

One of the people to be honoured is freelance artist and compositor D.Bekhbat who was awarded as ‘state-honoured cultural figure’ in accordance with the decree of President Kh.Battulga. The award ceremony took place in the ceremonial chamber which keeps the Great White Horse-Hair Banners.

D.Bekhbat has composed over 1000 songs, the most famous of which is ‘Mongol Naadam’.
