The autumn plenary session of the Mongolian State Great Khural (parliament) closed earlier today (9 February). This session starts in October and ends before the traditional new-year celebration of Tsagaan Sar. President Kh.Battulga spoke at the final gathering of the country’s law-makers. The president has just returned from a big provincial tour to Khentii, Gobi-sumber, Sukhbaatar, Bayan-Ulgii and Dornod in which he has been meeting with locals.

Before the end of the session, the State Great Khural discussed several items, including the constitutional report for January 2018, the most recent review of amendments to the law on deposit account insurance at commercial banks, the first review of a bill on enriched food, the resolution on immigration quotas and residence based on nationality for 2018 to 2020, and amendments to the law on combating money laundering and financing terrorism.
