In accordance with a decree of the President of Mongolia, the Egyptian Agency of Partnership for Development (EAPD) was awarded with a ‘Friendship’ Medal on occasion of the 55th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Mongolia and the Arab Republic of Egypt.
The medal was presented by D.Davaasuren, State Secretary of the Foreign Affairs Ministry, to Ambassador Ahmed Shaheen, Secretary General of the EAPD, in Cairo, reported the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia on 6 February.
During the ceremony, D.Davaasuren said: “Trainings organised by the EAPD have been intellectual contributions of the Egyptian government to strengthen Mongolia’s public service and play an important role in deepening mutual understanding and friendship between our citizens and strengthening bilateral relations. The Government of Mongolia highly recognises the EAPD’s contribution.”
Mongolia has been cooperating with the EAPD since 1997 and some 1300 Mongolia civil servants have attended a hundreds of medium and short-term training programs, organised by the EAPD.
Following the ceremony, the sides exchanged views on further bilateral cooperation, sending Mongolian civil servants to get practice in relevant sectors so that can contribute to development of Mongolia-Egypt trade and economic cooperation, expanding trainings and improving efficiency of trainings.
Moreover, an invitation for the Secretary General of the EAPD to visit Mongolia was received by Secretary General Ahmed Shaheen with gratitude.
