On 31 January, officers from the Mongolian Intelligence Agency discovered a huge stash of explosive materials in the Nalaikh district. The law enforcement agents seized the explosive materials from Mongolian citizens named ‘A’ and  ‘B’ who have been illegally storing and selling them.

According to one source, the pair were trying to sell the explosive materials to local miners. In 2015, two people died in an explosion while illegally using such materials.
