Mongolian Minister of Foreign Affairs D.Tsogtbaatar made an official visit to Pyongyang on 3-6 February at the invitation of his North Korean counterpart Ri Yong-ho. The Mongolian delegates included Major General T.Badral, director of Mongolian National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA). During the visit, Mr. T.Badral signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the  North Korean side to exchange experience of disaster management in technical and natural situations, to increase the skills and potential of officers and to engage in training.

This year, Mongolia and North Korea are celebrating the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations. Two sides agreed to mark the event in style. 

The last time, a Mongolian foreign minister visited Pyongyang was in 2010; the North Korean foreign minister last visited Ulaanbaatar in 2015.
