Cancer is second leading cause of death in Mongolia; at present one in five people die of cancer. According to a specialist:  ‘the high rate of cancer fatality is caused by late diagnoses. 76 percent of patients are being diagnosed in the fourth stage cancer’.

The National Cancer Centre has been organising the ‘campaign against cancer’ since 2011 in cooperation with Khan Bank and the Mongolian National Broadcaster. World Cancer Day is an international day marked on 4 February to raise awareness of cancer and to encourage its prevention, detection, and treatment. This year, Mongolia is organising Cancer Day under the slogan ‘I can, we can and you can’.
