Mongolia is a pretty safe place for most travellers to visit. With one of the lowest crime rates in Asia, you won’t have to worry too much about getting into trouble while visiting, so long as you play it safe and use common sense.

According to the General Judicial Council, five Mongolian soums (districts) reported ‘zero’ crime in 2017. These are the Altantsugts soum of Bayan-Ulgii province, the Undurshil soum of Dundgobi as well as the Urgamal, Telmen and Numrug soums of Zavkhan province.
