The Mongolian Health Ministry has decided to vaccinate children who live in Ulaanbaatar. According to statistics, pneumonia is leading cause of deaths and disease among Mongolian children aged between 0-5. Nearly 40 percent of infants who have been brought to hospital for treatment are suffering from pneumonia.

All children who live in Ulaanbaatar will receive pneumonia vaccination from March. The Ministry has bought vaccine at discounted price with the support of UNICEF. The pneumonia vaccine costs USD 20 per dose; UNICEF has discounted  the vaccine for Mongolia to USD 3.5 per dose.
