Representatives of the Office of Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) have submitted their review of the Mongolian presidential election which took place on 26 June 2017. The ODIHR observers’ team consists of 11 experts and 19 long-term observers from 23 EU members.
The submission of the review to the General Election Committee of Mongolia took place earlier today (17 January). Steven Martin, senior adviser to the ODIHR Limited Committee of Election Observers noted that Mongolia has been becoming well known for organising elections internationally. In 2017, the country successfully organised a second round of the presidential election for first time.
