Mongolia has increased prizes money from the VAT lottery which would be held in 2018. The decision was confirmed by decree of the Finance Ministry on 26 December, 2017. The amount of lowest prize was increased from MNT 20,000 to MNT 50,000. If three numbers of receipts match, then winner will get MNT 50,000.

During the VAT Lottery held on 22 October, a winning number of MNT 500 million (over USD 20 thousand) was announced for the first time. The winner is J.Altanzul, a human resources employee at the BSB Service Company in Ulaanbaatar. J.Altanzul won the jackpot of MNT 500 million after purchasing coca-cola and ice-cream from a shop she regularly visits; her receipt was for MNT 3450.
