The Standing Committee on Social Policy, Education, Culture and Science has discussed the amendment to the Law on Donors which was first approved in 2000. The law was amended in 2012. During the meeting, the lawmakers backed the idea of legalising the provision for surrogate mothers under the law.
Organ transplant operations have been quickly developing since Mongolian doctors undertook the first kidney transplant surgery in 2006. Since then, doctors in Ulaanbaatar have given new life trough 128 kidney transplant, 28 liver and two bone marrow operations.
