Earlier today (9 January), the committee on controlling petrol prices held a meeting at the Ministry of Mining and Heavy Industries. During the meeting, a working group was established for investigating petrol importing companies and the increase in price. In addition, the committee has authorised petrol importing companies that they must not increase prices without notification and government agreement. Nevertheless, petrol prices have increased by MNT 20-150 since yesterday (8 January).

According to Ministry, Mongolia currently has sufficient petrol reserves.
