In 2018, Mongolia is to repay USD 500 million of its Chinggis Bond debt. Tomorrow, 5 January at 10:00 am. Prime Minister U.Khurelsukh, will make the first bond payment transfer in person. Mongolia will repay the USD 500 million debt together with USD 61.56 million in interest. This, however, is just the beginning: a further USD 1 billion with USD 51.25 million interest will be paid back in 2022.
Mongolia’s foreign debts currently stand at USD 24 billion and government debts at MNT 23.8 trillion.
