With a new year comes new life and Australia welcomed the first baby of 2018 on Monday morning. Mongolian woman E.Sainzaya gave birth to a healthy boy baby just over an hour after Sydney rang in the New Year with its spectacular firework display.
The healthy baby boy was born at Sydney’s Westmead Hospital at 1.20am on the first day of the new year. The newborn was ‘a little bit big’, according to Sainzaya, weighing in at 4.15 kilograms.
At just 51.5cm long, the sleeping tot looked healthy as he nestled into his mother’s arms. Although her labour was “so very long’, Sainzaya looked to be in good health and spirits after welcoming her second son into the world.
