A two-day meeting to explore ways
of Mongolia-Japan cooperation in the atomic energy sector began in Ulaanbaatar yesterday.
It has been jointly organized by the
Nuclear Energy Authority of Mongolia and the Atomic Energy Agency of Japan.
Japanese Ambassador T.Kidokoro
opened the meeting, which is chaired by the Deputy Chief of the Mongolian
Nuclear Energy Authority, Ts.Damdinsuren. He said Mongolia plans to begin work
next year on construction of a nuclear station and expected energy generation
to begin in 2017. However, the availability of enough skilled local manpower
was a critical problem, he said.
