Mongolian World Ranking leader M.Urantsetseg was the World Champion in 2013 and ranked fifth in Rio in 2016. This year in Budapest, she reached the World Championships Final in the U48 category but finished with silver.

In 2014 she became World number one, which was almost a year after her world title. She made her World Championships debut in 2009 in Rotterdam but was still unknown in judo. In 2010, she started by winning her first World Cup event in Tashkent but since 2012, she had really made a name for herself by winning the bronze medal in.  She equalled that in 2013 and followed it with victories in Oberwart and Ulaanbaatar. In Rio she took the World title, which was the first time a woman from Mongolia had achieved this.  Urantsetseg became a judo hero, although not quite as legendary as Naidan who won Olympic gold for his country in Beijing in 2008 and won the silver in London in 2012.

At the Grand Slam in Paris, she always finished close in the top and she was able to win six medals.  It took her until 2015 to win it.  Including this year, she has been in the final four times in a row.  She won gold in Tashkent, which is her only gold medal but with medals in Hohhot, The Hague and a good finish in December winning silver in Tokyo and bronze at the Masters, this has secured her end of the year bonus and defended her World leading status that she regained in September this year.
