The New Year celebrations are fast approaching! In Mongolia, there will be a four-day holiday from  December 29th until January 2nd. The week starts with Mongolia’s National Independence Day, which is celebrated every year on December 29th and celebrates the country’s Declaration of Independence from Manchu-Qing Empire. It was on this day in 1924 that the Republic of Mongolia came into being.

The holiday will continue through the weekend (December 30th-31st). Naturally, Monday January 1st, 2018 will also be an official holiday.

The entitlement to national public holidays is regulated by the Labour Code of Mongolia, which was established in 1999. Over the last ten years, several amendments have been added that provide adequately paid time off for all employees.
