Mongolian state-honoured author and ‘poet of the people’ B.Lkhagvasuren has been diagnosed with stomach cancer. According to his family, over MNT 100 million is needed for his surgery. Inner Mongolians have raised CHY 150520 or MNT 55 million of donations.

In addition, the Mongolian government has donated a total of MNT 25 million to cover the costs of the surgery. The money is being sourced from the following agencies: MNT 10 million from Government Reserve Fund, MNT 10 million from Ministry of Education, Culture and Science and Sports as well as MNT 5 million from Health Ministry.  

B.Lkhagvasuren is expected to undergo surgery in South Korea on 10 January, 2018.
