Police officers from Umnugobi (South Gobi) in cooperation with the Energy Resources Company have established some fresh water drinking pools for thirsty wild animals.
The Mongolian Gobi Desert is home of wild sheep, wild goat and goitered gazelles. However, ever rising temperatures have already reducing the available water in the Gobi, making it harder for plants to grow and harder for wild animals to find water to drink. As a result the future of some of Mongolia’s desert breeds in under threat. The summer of 2017 was particularly hot and dry.
