Mongolians measure 9 sets of 9 days, for a total duration of 81 days during winter – after which spring will arrive. This count begins from 22 December which is the shortest day and longest night of the year. Winters in Mongolia are harsh, with temperatures typically ranging from -20°C to – 45°C degrees.
