The Ulaanbaatar City Traffic Police Department is planning to implement a rationing policy that restricts road use to cars using their license plates: one day, cars with an even number at the end of their registration number will able to use the roads; the next day, cars with an odd number will be allowed to drive.

The UB Traffic Police Department is conducting a poll on their Facebook page about, what for some, could be a controversial decision. The polling will last until Friday. If majority of voters back the decision, half of all cars will be restricted on 31 December. During the celebration period, the number of cars on the roads increases by 20-30 percent.
