On 15 December, Mongolia signed a prisoner extradition agreement with China’s Special Administrative Region of Macao. The signing ceremony was conducted by S.Erdene, Mongolia’s Consul General to Macao, Chan Huifan, Secretariat on Macao’s Justice Ministry, D.Gankhuyag, Mongolian Ambassador to China and Yuan Hengge, Deputy Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China.
Within the framework of the agreement, Mongolia will conduct prisoner swaps and develop cooperation in the justice sector with Macao.
Mongolia has prisoner extradition agreements with nine countries. At present, Mongolia is working hard to bring 25 prisoners from China, two from South Korea and one from Sweden back home.
