Named after Chinggis Khaan, the founder of the Great Mongol Empire, the country’s largest airport is marking its 60th anniversary this year. By decree of President Kh.Battulga it has been awarded the Mongolian Honour of Labour medal. Today at 07:35 the 103 passengers and crew of MIAT flight OM-136 were surprised to be greeted at the arrival gate by employees from the airport authority with roses.
During 2017, Chinggis Khaan International Airport has welcomed 2.1 million passengers since began operation. The number of passengers has been steadily growing annually since 2013 when1.3 million passed through the airport.
