Earlier today (12 December), the Mongolian National Statistical Office (NSO) issued the 2017 social and economic index data. According to the statistics, a total of 606.3 thousand employees from 38 thousand enterprises paid social security and health taxes.

Regarding income, the NSO report said, 36 percent or 218.6 thousand employees are paid MNT 500,000-900,000 a month and 16.6 percent – MNT 900,000-1,300,000. But 17.8 percent of employees have been  paid 300,000-500,000 a month and 11.7 percent – above 1,500,000.

According to the statistics, mining sector employees are the highest paid in Mongolia, receiving an average of MNT 2,200,000.
