The Ulaanbaatar city administration has decided to create a city of ice consisting of sculptures by famous ice-artists. This winter wonderland will be built along the banks of the Selbe River between the Beijing Street bridge and the Sky Department store. In addition to the ice sculptures there will be a skating rinks for the public.

The city hall planners have decided that there will be two skating rings sized 70×24 and 30×19 for adults and children, the 20 best sculptures from an international festival, and 20 Winter Olympic inspired sculptures.

Ulaanbaatar’s ‘city of ice’ will open on 15 December.
