Mongolian students have dominated the 2017 World Memory Championship which was held in the Indonesian capital Jakarta from 1-3 December. The competition was organized by IAM (International Association of Memory). Mongolia’s national team took 57 medals out of 90 in total in the kids, junior and adult categories, taking 22 531 points in total. Mongolia’s total dominance in the field is demonstrated by the fact that of the top ten 4000 memory athletes in the world, there are no less than four Mongolians.
The Mongolian team renewed seven world records and six memory athletes are qualified to become ‘international grandmasters’.
Four female athletes of the Mongolian Intellectual Academy are now participating in the 2017 World Memory Championships in the Chinese city of Shenzhen that starts today. This championship has a prize fund of USD 100.000. International grandmasters from Mongolia are competing with the best athletes including China, selected from 60 thousand athletes.
