International Master of Sport M.Ankhtsetseg has become the first Mongolian athlete to win a medal at the World Weightlifting Championships. The competition is being held in Anaheim in the LA metropolitan area of California.  M.Ankhtsetseg won bronze in the women’s 75 kg category lifting 107 kg in a snatch lift; however she missed a clean lift and jerked due to a previous arm injury.

A total of three Mongolian athletes with coach Ts.Khosbayar are currently in the United States, participating in the competition. Over 320 athletes from 68 countries are taking part in the World Weightlifting Championships.
