Mongolian experts and doctors shared information related to AIDS and HIV during a press conference on Friday marking World AIDS Day.
As for end of 2017, the official number of people affected with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) in Mongolia is 249. Furthermore, 33 foreign nationals from South Korea, Russia and Canada who work on jobs in the Mongolian mining sector and business, have HIV.
The Government of Mongolia has been distributing drugs for AIDS and HIV free of charge since 2013. This costs MNT 260 million annually (USD 106 thousand), or MNT 2-3 million per person (USD 818-1227).
