Mongolia signs cooperation agreement with Vietnam

The Vice President of Vietnam, Mrs Dang Thị Ngọc Thinh, is currently making an official visit to Ulaanbaatar at the invitation of Mongolian Prime Minister J.Erdenebat. The visit will last from 7th to 10th of May.

The visit officially began today (8th of May) with Ms Dang being greeted by Prime Minister J.Erdenebat on the Central Square at 10.00 am, with an official guard of honour and the playing of the national anthems of Mongolia and Vietnam. The two paid respect to the statue of Chinggis Khaan, which dominates Sukhbaatar Square. Mrs Dang then signed the Book of Honored Guests in the State House. Afterwards, the Prime Minister of Mongolia and the Vice President of Vietnam held official talks and signed a cooperation agreement.

The Vietnamese politician will pay courtesy calls on President Ts.Elbegdorj and Parliament Speaker M.Enkhbold. On May 9th, the Vietnamese Vice President will visit the Gandantegchenlin Monastery, which is the most important Buddhist centre in Mongolia and the official visit will end.

Mongolia established relations with Vietnam in November, 1954.
