The nomination of candidates for the upcoming Mongolian Presidential Election begins today, (2^nd of May) and will continue until 6^th of May, in compliance with the Election Law of Mongolia.

The law states that the nomination of presidential candidates must begin 55 days prior to election day and end 5 days prior to the election day.

As of today: the Chairman of the Mongolian People’s Revolutionary Party, former President N.Enkhbayar announced via a  daily newspaper his intention to nominate himself;  meanwhile, six or seven politicians from the Democratic Party are reportedly planning to run for the party’s candidacy. The Democratic Party will determine who the nominee will be for the 2017 Mongolian Presidential Election during the Party’s VIII Convention set to take place from 2nd to 7th of May.  A nomination poll will be held during the convention; only one candidate will be selected for the race.
