Mongolian Cabinet Secretary J.Munkhbat received a delegation led by Jason Allford Executive Director of the World Bank Group representing Mongolia on 4^th of May. At the beginning of their discussion, Mr J.Munkhbat, who is also a member of the State Great Khural (parliament), noted that protecting the interests of investors is one of leading disciplines of the Mongolian Government, for which reason a parliamentary committee was formed to protect investors’ interests.

Mr.Jason Allford reminded the Cabinet Secretary that the policy of the Mongolian Government which requires international commercial partners operating in the country to transfer all their payments and transactions through banks operating only in Mongolia, has a negative economic impact and is counterproductive. If the Mongolian Government withdraws this decision, the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank will be ready to provide aid soon.

We can note that Mr Allford's position is identical to that of the IMF, following the concerns by major operators such as mining giant Rio Tinto regarding the government regulation on financial transactions.
