The nomination of candidates for the upcoming Mongolian Presidential Election began on 2nd of May and will continue until 6th of May. This is in compliance with the Election Law of Mongolia.
The Mongolian People’s Party (MPP) selected its determined who the nominee for the highest office in the land during its Party Convention which took place on Wednesday 3rd of May. With an overwhelmng 80 percent of the vote, the choice fell on M.Enkhbold, who is currently the Speaker the of Parliament. The convention was held 66.8 percent attendance.
M.Enkhbold served as Prime Minister between January 2006 and November 2007. He has served as Chairman of the MPRP, and as Mayor of the capital city, Ulaanbaatar.
