Former MP Kh.Battulga announced his bid for the presidency as other six candidates from the Mongolian Democratic Party enter the race. These DP 'hopefuls' are N.Altankhuyag, D.Dorligjav, R.Amarjargal, B.Jargalsaikhan, former UB mayor E.Bat-Uul, B.Batbayar (essayist Baabar) and Kh.Battulga.

The Democratic Party will determine who the nominee will be for the 2017 Mongolian presidential election during the Party’s VIII Convention set to take place from 2^nd to 7^th of May.  A nomination poll will be held during the convention; only one candidate will be selected for presidential election race.
