Mongolian army commanders fired following grenade accident

Several Mongolian army commanders have been dismissed following the accidental explosion of a grenade which killed two soldiers. As we reported, two Mongolian soldiers were killed and eight others injured on Tuesday (11th of April) when a grenade accidentally exploded at the Tavantolgoi military training centre 50 km from Ulaanbaatar.

The General Staff of the Mongolian Armed Forces has dismissed D.Ulziibayar, commander of the military unit along with J.Sukh-Ochir, senior commander of the training division. Both  were blamed for the accident.

Also, B.Batnyam, commander of another unit has been dismissed for concealing the case of a soldier who got serious frostbite in his feet during the winter.

Six of the soldiers wounded in the grenade explosion, have now been released from hospital; two others are still undergoing treatment.
