The Mongolian Parliamentary Standing Committee on Environment, Food and Agriculture discussed the status of the country's livestock, in particular, the birth of young animals, during a meeting held on Wednesday 19th of April. According to Minister P.Sergelen, Mongolian livestock increased by 9.9 percent to 61 million head at the end of 2016. A total of 26.1 million head of livestock bore young last spring, namely: 55.8 thousand camels, 823.4 thousand horses, 1.2 million cows, 10 million sheep and 8.8 million goats. Mongolian livestock is expecting to grow by a total of 20 million young animals in 2017, of which 12.2 million have already been born.
