A Mongolian, who stated that he is working at the diplomatic mission in Austria, has been detained in Ukraine with a large number of contraband cigarettes reported http://ukropnews24.com.

According to the Ukrainian authorities, a van, fully packed with cigarettes marked with tax stamps, was stopped at the Luzhanka checkpoint on the Ukrainian-Hungarian border. The car was locked, and the checkpoint called the police and Ukrainian Security Service (SBU).

The inspection revealed that under the guise of diplomatic mail, a Mongolian in a Mercedes with Belarusian diplomatic plates was trying to move a large consignments of cigarettes. During questioning, the Mongolian citizen reported that he works in the diplomatic mission in Austria.

The details of the illegal tobacco consignment and its volume is still unknown.
