A Canadian doctor, Hugh M. Parsons, is performing eye lens transplants for free at the First Central Hospital of Mongolia for one week.
Today (19th of April), Mongolian Health Minister A.Tsoggerel received the team of Canadian ophthalmologists led by Dr Parsons. During the meeting Minister Tsoggerel expressed gratitude to the volunteer activity of the Laurel Foundation in Mongolia and expressed a wish to develop cooperation using telemedicine and online training for Mongolian ophthalmologists. Following the conclusion of a Memorandum of Understanding, the Mongolian Health Ministry has been cooperating with Canada's Laurel Foundation.
This is the fourth visit of Dr Parsons to Mongolia; previously he performed eye surgery at the First Central Hospital, the Cancer Hospital and the General Hospital of the Gobi-Altai province.
