South Gobi (Umnugobi) province of Mongolia has been cooperating with the Alsha province of Inner Mongolia, which is part of China. Since 2004, the two provinces have been developing cooperation in health, education, culture, agriculture and farming.

In March, Umnugobi province was hit by extreme weather conditions, which resulted in the loss of livestock due to heavy snowfall. In order to help, Alsha province has presented 500 tonnes of fodder to herders of Umnugobi.
