The second joint meeting of the Mongolian – Italian Intergovernmental Commission was held in Ulaanbaatar on 6^th of April. P.Sergelen, Minister of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry led the Mongolian delegation and Ivan Scalfarotto, Undersecretary for International Trade and Investment at the Italian Ministry of Economic Development headed the visiting group.

During the meeting, the representatives of the two countries discussed current socio-economic conditions, the foreign and development policies of their respective countries and exchanged views on further trade and economic cooperation. Within this framework, they agreed to cooperate in the food, agriculture, light industry, health, energy, environment, education, culture, science, road transport, construction and urban development sectors; the overarching aim being to create mutually beneficial relations for exporting final products manufactured with Mongolian raw materials using advanced Italian technology.

The meeting concluded by signing a memorandum of cooperation between Mongolian Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry and Ministry of Economic Development of Italy.
