The ISDR Asia Partnership (IAP) meeting opened in Ulaanbaatar yesterday (5th of April). Robert Glasser, Assistant Secretary-General and Special Representative for Disaster Risk Reduction and Mongolian Deputy Prime Minister U.Khurelsukh both spoke at the opening ceremony of the meeting. During the meeting, the two sides discussed substantive preparation for the Asian Ministerial Conference for Disaster Risk Reduction (AMCDRR), which will take place in Ulaanbaatar in 2018.

Mr. Robert Glasser said ‘We can confirm that Mongolia is working successfully on disaster risk reduction. For example, the Mongolian Parliament has approved the law on disaster protection. We also thank Mongolia in advance for hosting the Asian Ministerial Conference for Disaster Risk Reduction (AMCDRR) in 2018’
