The 10th Assembly
of international Mongolist scholars will be held at Government House between
August 9 and 13. President Ts.Elbegdorj is the patron of the conference that is
being jointly organized by the International Union of Mongolian Studies and the
Science Academy.
The assembly is organized once
every five years and 200 foreign scholars will be attending this year. They
include scholars from Russian institutes in Moscow, St Petersburg, Irkutsk,
Vladivostok, Elista and Ulaan-Ude. China will be represented by 40 scholars
Japan by 24, and South Korea by 20. Organizers expect some more to register
between now and the opening day.
The assembly will have five sections,
spanning Mongolia from the days of pre-history to the present, and papers will
be read on the Mongolian language, culture, economics, politics, foreign
relations and diplomacy.
