Minister for Internal Affairs Ts.Nyamdorj has said families of all the casualties of the July 1 incident has taken the compensation offered by the Government. However, the father of E.Dorjsuren, one of the five who died that night, has not claimed the MNT50 million, demanding instead an apology from political leaders for the incident.
He told media on Tuesday that there seems to be no leader wise enough to apologize. He would also like the Government to accept responsibility for its mistakes and finds it “amazing” that ex-Prime Minister S.Bayar and former Minister for Internal Affairs Ts.Munkh-Orgil have been absolved of any blame. “Our family will not take the money until the court decides on who was responsible for the deaths,” he said. Policemen acted on orders from people above them and they must be identified.
He said no date has been set to put up the statue in memory of the victims.
