Minister
for Food, Agriculture and Light Industry T.Badamjunai claimed at the Government
meeting on Wednesday that livestock grew in 2011 at a rate not seen in the last
decade. Herders will have between 43 and 44 million head of livestock this
winter, more then 4 million more than in the last winter.

He
added that the Ministry would start checking winter preparation work in aimags
from August 15. Also, 30 million animals would be vaccinated against the foot
and mouth disease from September as part of the Mongol Livestock program.
