Ulaanbaatar City Mayor, S.Batbold,  has issued three orders for combatting air pollution.

First: to establish a 'red' demarcation line around Ulaanbaatar. It will be prohibited for people to settle beyond the 'red line'.

Second: the Mongolian capital will be divided into four zones based on different levels of pollution. It will be prohibited for householders in Zone 1 to burn fuel and produce fumes.

Third: migration movement from the countryside to Ulaanbaatar will be prohibited until 1^st of January, 2018. Sick people requiring treatment in Ulaanbaatar will be allowed to move to the city. In addition, if a person currently living outside the city has already bought an apartment in Ulaanbaatar, it will be still possible for them to move to the capital.
